Cabinet minister Michael Gove is asked when the peak of the epidemic will come and why Germany has done more tests than the UK, Mr Gove says the rise in deaths is "deeply shocking, disturbing and moving". He says there is no "fixed date like Easter" for when we can expect to see a peak and adds reducing that "depends on the actions all of us take". Dr Stephen Powis, medical director for NHS England, says that we will first see a reduction in infections, then a reduction in hospitalisations and then a fall in the number of deaths. "Green shoots will take a while," he adds. On testing, Dr Harries says "we want to be testing where it is useful". She adds that if a member of the public had tested positive for the coronavirus they would not be asked to take any different action. Please subscribe HERE bit.ly/1rbfUog

European leaders have moved to shut the EU's external borders as they grapple with the quickly spreading virus. The measure is expected to apply to 26 EU states as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The ban came as deaths continued to soar across Europe. Italy remains the worst-hit country with another big surge in cases today. Spain has also partially locked down its 47 million inhabitants In Germany Chancellor Merkel has banned religious services and venues including clubs, bars, leisure facilities, zoos and playgrounds will also be closed. In France tough new restrictions have come into force. No one can now leave home without a government form - that they print out - to justify their reason for being outside. For the next two weeks, people are only allowed out - to go to work, to buy essential food or medical supplies, for a family emergency, or to exercise or walk a dog - but they must be on their own -- facing a fine if these conditions aren't met. As the pandemic of Coronavirus claims more lives around the world, the people of the United Kingdom are now being advised to make drastic changes to their day-to-day existence. The Prime Minister Boris Johnson rejected criticism that his government had been slow to respond to the scale of the crisis. Mr Johnson said now was the moment to stop all non-essential contact with other people and to avoid all non-essential travel. The over 70s, pregnant women and those with underlying health conditions need to be particularly vigilant. Entire families must self-isolate for 14 days if just one member has a persistent new cough or a high temperature. From this weekend those with the most serious health conditions should be isolated from social contact for 12 weeks Today's announcement marks a significant shift from the UK government's position last week. Minutes before the news conference took place the World Health Organization called for stronger measures than the UK and some other countries were taking. Officials are now convinced that the UK is on the verge of a major upswing in cases and there are genuine concerns about the impact on the National Health Service. Huw Edwards presents tonight’s BBC News at Ten and unravels the day’s events with the BBC’s health editor Hugh Pym and medical correspondent Fergus Walsh. Please subscribe HERE bit.ly/1rbfUog

The PM has said everyone in the UK should avoid "non-essential" travel and contact with others to curb coronavirus - as the country's death toll hit 55. Boris Johnson said people should work from home where possible as part of a range of stringent new measures. Pregnant women, people over the age of 70 and those with certain health conditions should consider the advice "particularly important", he said. People in at-risk groups will be asked within days to stay home for 12 weeks. Health Secretary Matt Hancock told the House of Commons the number of people to have died with the virus in England had risen to 53 - and "the disease is now accelerating". New York City is closing schools on Monday, and restaurants, bars and other venues a day later in an effort to halt the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Mayor Bill de Blasio said he decided to act because "our city is facing an unprecedented threat, and we must respond with a wartime mentality". Separately, the US is extending its European travel ban to include the UK and Republic of Ireland. The US has confirmed 69 deaths linked to the pandemic and 3,774 infections. New York City - which has the population of more than eight million - has recorded five deaths. Each of the victims - aged 53 to 82 - had underlying health conditions, officials say. During the 1918 Pandemic...they put out the saying.. “Spit kills wear a mask” Protect each other from ASYMPTOMATIC DROPLETS. Doctors don’t wear N95 masks to do normal surgeries. They wear lighter surgical masks to protect the patient from accidental sneezes, cough or spittle while talking. Protect each other by wearing a mask to reduce droplets later touched by other people. Does more than sneezing into a tissue or elbow. Holds droplets from talking or sneezing from other surfaces. Let’s protect each other from asymptomatic spread of unnecessary droplets everywhere. Just like sneezing into a tissue as a courtesy, this does more. We have no idea who is asymptomatic. This includes handmade, and bandanas! Protect your neighbors from asymptomatic spread. Any mask will curb from sneezing and talking droplets, like sneezing into a tissue . Wash your mask daily if it is cloth and reusable with soap & hot water. If you are ‘desperate’ and have no water put your mask in direct sunlight in the fresh air when not in use. www.nytimes.com/2020/03/31/health/cdc-masks-coronavirus.html

At first I was disappointed at Korean government's coronavirus management. It was worse than I expected. They neither lockdown like Taiwan nor do test at every single chinese visitors. When we had more than 5,000 patient, I thought it would be out of control. Tracking all those patient seemed impossible, and I thought it's stupid. Really. *But It Worked.* It's not late.
